12g | A small non reusable tube of compressed air used on smaller paintball guns. |
Anti-Siphon | Special device that only allows the paintball gun to suck air and not liquid from the tank. |
Barrel Plug | A plug that doesn't allow projectiles to exit the paintball gun barrel but allows air and pressure to exit. |
Bunker-noun | A place to hide behind. Is usually good for cover but an obvious hiding place, a common place to get ambushed at. |
Bunker-verb | The act of charging a bunker and trying to mark the people inside it. |
Chronograph | A device that measures the velocity of a paintball leaving the barrel. This should be 300 or lower to insure safety. |
CO2 | The most common compressed gas used to power a paintball gun. |
Feeder | The hopper on top of the paintball gun that feeds paintballs to the paintball gun through a hole in the bottom of the hopper. On the M16 look alike markers this is located along the bottom of the barrel. |
Feeder Agitator | An electronic device that shakes the bottom of the feeder. This is used on smooth firing markers like the AutoCocker and the AutoMag since they naturally shake little. |
FPS | Feet Per Second. The speed that an object travels. The safe speed is 300 or lower. If a paintball gun is above this speed it is "running hot" and has to be adjusted. People put their speed above this on purpose sometimes because it is more accurate and the ball is more likely to pop when it hits the person. This can cause injuries. |
Harness | The belt that is worn around the waist that holds things like containers of paintballs, it prevents them from breaking while being carried. |
Compressed Air or HPA | High pressure compressed air usually 3000-4500 psi. This is usually used in paintball tournaments. Special equipment is needed to use this, it lowers the output pressure low enough for the paintball guns to handle it. |
IPPA | International Paintball Players Association. |
KotL | Keeper of the List the person that has the list of the people on each team. |
PSI | Pounds per Square Inch a measurement of the air pressure inside the air tank. |
Remote | A hose that attaches to the airtank valve on the paintball gun so that a player can have an air tank on their harness. |
Siphon Bottle | A special type of CO2 tank designed to suck liquid into the gun. |
Speedball | Is a game played on small man-made fields. They are made so that spectators can see the action. They are made out of tractor tires, wooden pallets or other objects. |
Squeegee | A device that is used to get the paint out of the barrel of a paintball gun. |
Squid | Also known as a newbie, is a negative term for a new player. |
